Leomhann Enterprises opened our doors on August 29, 2016. That makes this our tenth year in Cleveland, which is surreal to sit with when we remember what our company looked like then: a single Cleveland market, a short list of names, and no expansions, no management team, and no track record to point to yet.
Ten years is long enough to stop being the new company in town. It’s also long enough to have watched a lot of people walk in with no experience and walk out years later running their own office. That’s the part worth writing down.
Why Cleveland
Leomhann Enterprises was founded in Cleveland, and that was a deliberate choice. Plenty of great companies find their way here from somewhere else. We happened to start here, and we’ve never wanted to be anywhere else.
It’s also an easy place to build a life around a job. A first paycheck goes further here than in most cities; there’s a pro team playing in every season, and the neighborhoods still feel like neighborhoods, which matters when a lot of our team is putting down roots for the first time.
Cleveland rewards the kind of work we do. It’s a market where a handshake still carries weight, where businesses want to know who they’re dealing with, and where showing up in person means something a cold email never will. Our clients trust that their customers are being looked after by someone who knows the neighborhoods, the pace, and the people, and this Northeast Ohio consulting firm is run by folks who’ve spent years learning all three.
The Story Since 2016
The first six months took us past twenty people. We brought Salesforce into the business early, which sounds mundane until you’ve tried to scale a sales operation without it.
From there, the growth came in steps rather than leaps. In 2017, we promoted two assistant managers and extended our reach in Cleveland to cover three offices’ worth of work. In 2018, we promoted a manager and added a fourth. We adopted a hybrid model in 2020 when it made sense to. Then the map started growing: Akron and Canton in spring 2021, North Ridgeville that summer, Lexington, Kentucky the next year, and from there Birmingham, Memphis, and Raleigh. In fall 2024, our home office opened another location in Medina, back here in Northeast Ohio.
Someone promoted from inside our company opened every one of those Leomhann Enterprises locations. That’s the pattern, and it’s deliberate. We never hire an outside manager to walk in and take over a new market. When we expand, the person running the new office is someone who was already on our team, learned the business here, and earned the chance to lead it.
The People
Our company runs on a promote-from-within model, which means the person leading a branch today was usually taking notes in a training room a few years ago. That shapes what day-to-day life feels like here. Training is hands-on from the start, and the person teaching you did the job themselves. We assign responsibility based on merit rather than seniority, so anyone ready gets the chance to prove it, whether they’ve been here six months or six years.
Leomhann Enterprises is a team-oriented place, and we mean that in the practical sense: weekly team development events that our team picks, and the chance to travel to leadership conferences and visit our other markets. Outside of work, we spend real time in this city. Team nights land at Topgolf more often than anywhere else, which has produced a standing argument about whose swing is worst and no resolution to speak of.
What’s Next in Northeast Ohio
We’re scheduled to expand four to five more times over the next five years, with a longer-range plan of reaching thirty offices nationwide within a decade. We’re hiring for it now!
That growth starts here. Every new market we open gets staffed by someone who came up inside our company, and most of them learned the business in Northeast Ohio, which keeps our Ohio roots at the center of everything, no matter how far the map stretches.
Ten Years In
A decade in, the thing we’re proudest of isn’t the office count. It’s that the people running those offices are the same people who started at the bottom of them.
